A white Citroen SM was chosen for the launch of the
car in Geneva in 1970. History does not record the names of the
models or how much they were paid for wearing those wigs!
Adverts from the UK motoring press in 1973 show the SM
in a rural setting. Although each may look the same they are all
subtly different, maybe it was to draw attention away from the ever
increasing price!
Another set of famous publicity photos shot in a forest with a
model small enough to make the interior look roomy - her name Suzanne
Mirable.
The Citroën SM was the star of many a motor show and for one
reason or another was often accompanied by beautiful girls. Here
are just a selection.
Suzanne Mirable was the model in
the classic woodland shots of the SM. In Peter
Pijlman's book SM De Diva there is a whole chapter on the
quest to find her again.
